Soulbound credentials

Give your community proof they can’t buy, sell, or fake: permanent on-chain badges that say “I was here, I did this, I belong.”

The one-liner
A Soulbound Token is a non-transferable NFT (a credential that can only be earned, never bought), so it becomes durable proof of who actually did the work.

What it is

Soulbound Token (SBT)

A non-transferable NFT: a credential a member claims to their own wallet that stays there for good. Unlike a normal collectible, it can never be traded away, sold, or transferred to someone else. That permanence is the point. An SBT is living proof of an achievement, a membership, or a completed action that only the person who earned it can hold.

With Loyalty Stacker, you award SBTs as quest rewards. A member finishes the task, claims the credential, and mints it to their wallet, where it becomes a verifiable, on-chain part of their reputation.

Transferable vs. soulbound

A soulbound credential is built on the same NFT engine as a normal collectible. It’s simply minted with the transferability switch turned off. That one difference changes everything about what the badge proves.

Transferable NFT
  • Can be traded, sold, or sent to another wallet.
  • Has a secondary market. Anyone can buy their way in.
  • Proves ownership today, not how it was obtained.
Soulbound credential
  • Non-transferable. It stays in the wallet that earned it for good.
  • No secondary market and no way to fake one.
  • Proves the holder genuinely did the thing it stands for.
Permanence is the feature
Once a member claims an SBT, it can never be moved. That’s intentional. A credential that could be sold or transferred would stop being proof. Reach for a transferable mint instead when you want a tradeable collectible; see NFT minting & contracts.

What you can do

Award SBTs as quest rewards

Attach a soulbound credential to any quest. When a member completes it, the “Claim” option unlocks and they mint the SBT to their own wallet.

Design the credential

Give each SBT a name, a description, and custom artwork so it reflects the achievement it represents.

Guarantee it's earned, not bought

Because SBTs are non-transferable, there's no secondary market and no way to fake one, and Loyalty Stacker only authorizes a claim once it confirms the member genuinely completed the quest.

One per member, automatically

Each member can earn a given SBT only once. Loyalty Stacker tracks every claim, prevents duplicates, and shows members which credentials they've collected.

Use credentials to unlock more

An SBT a member already holds can act as a key: gate other quests, perks, or experiences so they're available only to people who carry the right badge.

Each badge is an on-ramp to the next
Because a held credential can gate the next quest, earning one SBT becomes the start of a ladder. Every badge a member collects opens the door to more.

Examples & use cases

“OG member” badge

Reward your earliest supporters with a permanent founding-member credential that newcomers can never acquire.

Proof-of-completion certificate

Issue a verifiable on-chain certificate when someone finishes a course, a challenge, or a multi-step campaign.

Tiered membership credential

Hand out bronze, silver, and gold credentials as members level up, and gate premium perks behind the higher tiers.

Event attendance

Give attendees a soulbound “I was there” token that proves participation in a launch, an IRL meetup, or a live stream.

Why it matters

Points and giveaways can be gamed; transferable rewards can be bought. Soulbound credentials can’t. They turn participation into a durable, portable reputation that lives in the member’s own wallet, something they carry with pride and that other communities can recognize.

For you, that means a loyalty signal you can trust:

  • A reliable way to identify your true believers.
  • A way to reward real achievement, not just clicks or wallet balances.
  • An inner circle no one can shortcut their way into.

How it works

  1. 1
    Create the credential
Design an SBT with its name, description, and artwork, and connect it to one of your collections.
  2. 2
    Attach it to a quest
Set the SBT as the reward for any quest you want to recognize.
  3. 3
    Member earns it
Once they complete the quest, Loyalty Stacker confirms the completion and unlocks the claim.
  4. 4
    Member claims it
They mint the credential to their own wallet in one tap; it’s permanently theirs and can never be transferred.
  5. 5
    Put it to work
Gate other quests and perks behind the credential, so each badge a member earns opens the door to more.
